Notice for Review Requests

I receive review requests weekly. However, my personal schedule is hectic and I no longer review actively. (I also manage another blog called The Toronto Cafe and Food Blog). I do read every request sent but I apologize in advance that I do not reply to them all.

If I do take on a request, I will forewarn that it may take some time before I can review it. I am now looking to review adult fiction and self-help books instead of young adult fiction because I have grown out of it. If you are to request a review for either adult fiction or self-help, I will more likely to give it a shot.

In the meantime, Stop, Drop, and Read! serves as an archive book review blog. When I have the time, I may post a review. Thank you for understanding.

2nd Blogoversary Bash!

Yes, Stop, Drop, and Read! is now officially two years old! Dun dun dun! If you were here last year, you may have remembered that I invited some YA authors. The theme for last year was to write in one of your character's perspective! I have invited a few familiar faces and also new ones for this bash! This year's theme is: post-high school! Now, why did I choose that? Well, I'm sure you know (if not, now you do) that I graduated high school this year! I am heading off to university for business and I am most excited because I will be downtown constantly! So I thought, why not use it as a theme for this year's blogoversary?

However, in order to participate in the contests that I have here, YOU MUST BE A FOLLOWER. Not that hard, there's a follow button on the sidebar. :3 If it wasn't for my followers, Stop, Drop, and Read! wouldn't be where it is today. So I thank all of my old followers for sticking with me. (I do apologize for the lack of reviews these days, both YA and manga, so hopefully this event will make it up to you guys! Unfortunately this event is more geared towards to my YA readers. It would be lovely if I could invite some mangakas though. Too bad I don't speak an ounce of Japanese...)

If you want to get extra entries, and I won't repeat this again, comment something that allows me to see you have read the post (if there's a post since some are just straight contests). I generally don't like it when people just come for the giveaways but I can't do anything about it really (besides, how would I know if you didn't read the post or not?). So if you post something relevant, extra entries! (I decide on this so you guys are not allowed to tack it into your comment).

How long will this event last for? To be honest, I did everything last minute because I did not have time during the school year //cough//blamelazinesstoo//cough//. I'm actually still waiting on a couple of more authors to reply! So I will let you know when all the contests end. I'm thinking it will last for all of August but I'll let you guys know!

I am likely going to have the posts run through Monday-Friday with Saturday and Sunday off for my reviews if any. Gives a little buffer time for you guys to catch up. Prepare to see the first post tomorrow after my MMM&MM meme! :D I hope you guys enjoy the event!

Edit: Unlike last year, you can only win once! I think that's only fair. :)

If you're an author and would like to participate in this event, shoot me an email at faked_sugartone at hotmail.com ASAP and I will fit you in!
