Title: No One
Artist/Band: F.Cuz
Language: Korean
My Thoughts: When F.Cuz debuted with their song Jiggy, I was slightly horrified. It was a cute song that was just wrong to have a MV for. I mean, really? Any guy who is asked to look like a girl and wear such colourful clothes would've ran the opposite direction (but I guess to get into the entertainment industry, one has to give up man pride).

After downloading F.Cuz's album, I started tweeting how F.Cuz should've debuted with another song because all the other ones were so good. Shortly after, voila!, I discovered the MV for No One! (Yay for manlier look! x3)

Title: Heartbeat
Artist/Band: 2PM
Language: Korean
My Thoughts: Heartbeat is a song you have to listen to a couple of times over before it starts getting addicting (in my experience).

2PM is one of my top favourite bands! When they debuted, I kept listening to them over and over (like most songs I get attached to easily). I am dying for another MV by them!

Review

Greek: Double Date by Marsha Warner

I haven't read TV series based novels since... ever really. I have never seen Greek either because I don't exactly have cable nor does it seem like it would be something I'm interested in.

Those who have watched the show: What is it about? You like it? Why or why not?

Music Machine

Title: My Ear's Candy
Artist/Band: Baek Ji Young feat. Taecyeon
Language: Korean
My Thoughts: Eleni, you got my addicted to this song!! (Surfed through your playlist on your blog out of boredom) :P

I never really had a favourite member from 2PM (a really really awesome K-band! I think I will have them up next week), but after this MV, TAECYEON FTW! ♥

And of course we have to draw out the winner for Silver Phoenix! //drumrolls// The winner is...

I got a couple of awards recently. One is the One Lovely Blog Award from Little Miss Becky at Stories & Sweeties. The other, to be honest, I forgot which post it was commented on. ^^; But I'm sure you know who you are! Thank you both!

Yan from Books By Their Cover tagged me with Honest Scrap. I got tagged once in the past but never did it. So I will now. The rules are to: 1) List 10 honest things about yourself and 2) Pass it on to 10 other honest bloggers.

1. I exercise religiously everyday. I feel horrible if I don't, even when I'm sick.
2. The original reason why I started exercising was because I wanted to be a model...
3. I secretly still do. (Which I guess isn't a secret anymore Px )
4. I hate it when people fool me. It makes me sad and angry at the same time.
5. Although I hate Twilight, I urge to read the rest of the series so I can like it. oO;
6. I have never, ever been to an author event. :( I mean, I passed by author signings in the bookstore before, but they were people I never heard and didn't write YA fiction.
7. I get a little sad if I don't have at least one comment for every post I have on the blog. =w=;
8. I am easily inspired to do something new. But that goes for as easily losing interest in it as well. x.x
9. I have never kissed a guy nor been in a relationship yet.
10. I'm starting to love fashion. In the past I didn't care what I wear for the most part. I dumped all of my money into books. But now, the money is starting to stray into clothes instead...

Gah, I'm lazy to tag anyone. So if you're reading this, you're tagged! :P

Quick thank you to Mariana for The Splash Award!

There is a great blog makeover contest going on! You should definitely check it out! It will end on January 20/10!

What you can win:

• A custom blog theme/template for selfhosted Wordpress or Blogger (no Wordpress.com, sorry, it’s not possible).
• With up to 15 credits in istockphoto images for the design (if you want more images, you’ll have to purchase them).
• And up to 3 revisions of the blog sketch!
• You will also get a 125 x 125 px banner for it!

Important Guidelines

• The design will include fonts that are free for commercial use (but you can choose to buy yourself a professional one, there’s some really cheap ones).
• The theme/template will include a credit link in the footer.
• The prize does not include plugin customization, or anything like that outside the theme itself. Uploading content to the blog is your responsability.
• If you have images you want included in the design, you must own them, or have a license for them. Using images right out of Google or other places won’t be possible.

Doing an early IMM because I'm heading off to California tomorrow! Next week's IMM will be delayed until I get back! And quick thank you to ~The Book Pixie for the Your Blog Rocks Award!

Wdebo is celebrating her first blogoversary and birthday! She's giving away some pretty cool prizes so click here to check it out!

I was surprised when I went to check my email to find out that I was nominated for Best Graphic Novel Review Blog and Cultural Review Blog! Cultural Review Blog?? Hm, I'm still puzzling over that one. I rummaged back in my archive for links and was horrified that my "cultural" novel reviews weren't so great back when my blog was still new. Ah well, it's still something.

But I want to thank you so much to whoever nominated me! It made me really happy to know that you think so highly of my blog! Anyway, I decided to do a little meme for BBAW.

1) What has been one of the highlights of blogging for you?

Being able to communicate with fantastic bloggers and authors around the world and discovering all of the amazing YA books out there! Believe it or not, I sort of stopped reading regular novels before I decided to blog at one point of my life. But now, I have a huge selection and my brain is indulging them all! To all my blogger friends, love you all!

2) What blogger has helped you out with your blog by answering questions, linking to you, or inspiring you?

The Story Siren and In Bed With Books were the two blogs that stood out to me before I started blogging. They inspired me to start blogging because I was done summer school at the time and had nothing better to do for the next month. From there, Stop, Drop, and Read! was born.

3) What one question do you have about BBAW that someone who participated last year could answer?

Hm, I really don't have one! My blog was still pretty new when last year BBAW came around so I was quite unfamiliar with it. But I am definitely looking forward to this year's!

There is also a great contest you can join for Harlequin Teen! Check below!

I want to thank Diane from The Book Resort for the Kreativ Blogger Award!

The Kreativ Blogger award meme works like this: If you accept it, you are supposed to list seven of your favorite things and nominate seven blogs that deserve this award.

1. My blog
2. Manga
3. Books
4. Food
5. Do hot guys count?
6. My friends
7. Anything Asian related! Well, most...

Hm, I usually don't nominate but I guess I will this time. I choose:

1. Book-Luver Carol's Reviews
2. The Shady Glade
3. The Chick Manifesto
4. Library Lounge Lizard
5. Reverie Book Reviews
6. Frenetic Reader
7. Shooting Stars Mag

Announcement: I am changing my manga review template. In the past, I always reviewed a series up to whatever volume I've read. Sometimes it is a little confusing because I don't really state which volumes I have reviewed up to. Some assume it is the first volume while others assume it is the whole series. Then for the past couple of months, I decided to only review series that are either single volume or if I finished reading the entire series. (Along with review copies I received from publishers). It can get a little "?" sometimes.

Therefore, I'm just going to adjust my template a bit so you know which volume(s) I am referring to in my review. But my manga reviews are going to be more infrequent now because I cater for a majority of a young adult reading audience. There is absolutely no way I can review every single manga I've read because it will really take a toll on me. (Plus, you see all of those mangas I keep bringing home for my In My Mailboxes). I do give ratings on manga volumes (not really reviews, sorry) over at Goodreads (click here) that I have completed.

So the template will be changed from:

Title:
Mangaka:
Age Group:
# of Pages:
# of Volumes:
My Rating:

to

Title:
Mangaka:
Age Group:
Series is: Completed with # of volumes/Ongoing with # of volumes
Volume(s) Reviewing:
My Rating:

And now I'm mentioning if it is ongoing or not, unlike my previous template where you would have no idea if the series is yet completed over in Japan/Korea/whatnot. I decided to remove # of Pages because all mangas generally have the same number of pages anyway, more or less.

We were searching long and hard for the book (out of print) so she could give it for her boyfriend's birthday. And not to mention the great condition it was still in was a definite plus!

Also thank you Jennifer for sending me your book to review! I am eager to finish it!

This week, none of my new requests from the library came in. Therefore, no borrowed books. I have to still finish my stack from the last two weeks anyway. (Slowly diminishing... Slowly but surely. Until I get this week's books cause I know I will, ack!)
