Notice for Review Requests

I receive review requests weekly. However, my personal schedule is hectic and I no longer review actively. (I also manage another blog called The Toronto Cafe and Food Blog). I do read every request sent but I apologize in advance that I do not reply to them all.

If I do take on a request, I will forewarn that it may take some time before I can review it. I am now looking to review adult fiction and self-help books instead of young adult fiction because I have grown out of it. If you are to request a review for either adult fiction or self-help, I will more likely to give it a shot.

In the meantime, Stop, Drop, and Read! serves as an archive book review blog. When I have the time, I may post a review. Thank you for understanding.

Trailer Tuesday: The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson

Title: The Adoration of Jenna Fox
Author: Mary E. Pearson
Description: Who is Jenna Fox? Seventeen-year-old Jenna has been told that is her name. She has just awoken from a coma, they tell her, and she is still recovering from a terrible accident in which she was involved a year ago. But what happened before that? Jenna doesn’t remember her life. Or does she? And are the memories really hers?

This fascinating novel represents a stunning new direction for acclaimed author Mary Pearson. Set in a near future America, it takes readers on an unforgettable journey through questions of bio-medical ethics and the nature of humanity. Mary Pearson’s vividly drawn characters and masterful writing soar to a new level of sophistication.

I don't like the cover for this novel but I am definitely intrigued by its premises. It is quite similar to Skinned by Robin Wasserman, a futuristic novel I highly adore. For those who have read The Adoration of Jenna Fox, what is your opinion on it?

I ADORED The Adoration of Jenna Fox. It's seriously one of my favorite books. Parts of it rubbed me the wrong way, but not a lot. I cried at the end.

Which cover didn't you like? The puzzle or the butterfly? I don't really like the puzzle cover, but I do really like the butterfly cover.

It's actually the butterfly one xD I actually sort of prefer the puzzle one. :) Thanks for your input!

ooo I love The Adoration of Jenna Fox, such an amazing novel...yes there are some similar things to Skinned, but they are quite different. There is this somber mood to The Adoration, and a (still somber but not so) teen-y mood, more uppity (haha I just made up two words...not really sure if it makes sense tho) lol XD

Oh well, I hope you can read it!! And I thoroughly enjoyed Skinned can't wait to read Crashed!!
